But beyond this, my son, be warned: the writing of many books is endless, and excessive devotion to books is wearying to the body. The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person." Ecclesiastes 12:9-13

COMMENTARY:  Everyone has a talent.  Some people can write, some people can speak, ...and some people can do both.  Before the advent of the printing press, most people had an absolutely phenomenal memory.  In fact one of the very early Hebrew names for "man" used in Genesis, was "remembering ones."  We were made to remember.  But since the printing press, and then radio, and finally TV and film, mankind has lost its memory.  We can see it everyday when we hear politicians (and preachers) say things 5-years ago...and then they say something different today...or tomorrow.  Since modern mankind has lost its memory capabilities and  people don't read like they once did, these things are allowed by our society.  Too bad.  But this is why it is so very important to write books and to have a written record of discoveries.  If a pastor or rabbi will not write down what he/she teaches...then the flock MUST keep coming back for fresh mental/spiritual nourishment- which in post-modern settings can change with the direction of the wind.

So it's a very good thing when people have the courage of their commitments to record on paper what they have discovered about life, about God, and about anything and everything that they have noticed during their sojourn on Earth.  If you find such a person in your travels and befriend them, count yourself blessed (there is no such thing as "luck"), for you have found a man or a woman with a spinal column. A rare thing today in a world a changing commitments and loyalties.  Be hot, be cold, but never be luke warm; be on the right side of the fence, or be on the left side, but don't straddle it.  Be counted for something.  "I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot."So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth." Revelation 3:15-16.  As the Children of God, what we Believe in is important for our Brothers and Sisters in Messiah, because sooner or later, every True Believer will had a bulls-eye on their lives.  Those of YHWH's servants who have been martyred over the millennia knew what they Believed in, the stood firm upon the Rock.  Do you know what it is that you Believe in?  Could you write your own confession?   Your Servant - DM.

P.S. Question: Does your synagogue/congregation/church have a library?  Is it open and available to everyone...or only to the rabbinical/pastoral staff?  Why?  When I was an active airline pilot and taught airline pilots, I always use to teach new Captains that there are 2-3 brains and lifetimes of experience on the flight deck.  The Captain has the legal responsibility to make a decision, but to ignore the input of the other crewmembers is to tread perilously.  In a congregation there are a plurality of Elders, then of deacons, teachers, etc.  The Elders have the "legal" responsibility to make decisions, but they ignore input from "many counselors" perilously.  Having a congregation have access to many commentaries is something to encourage...not discourage.  Question:  What if your synagogue/congregation/church DOESN'T have a library at all?  Your Servant - DM.

Many people don't have the money.  And, (3).  This websites gets "hits" (visitors) from all over the world, every week.  In many countries it may be difficult to find a good copy of the Scriptures, let alone some decent study material.  So we provide these books, such as Edersheim's - The Temple, for True Believers here in America and all over the world, who simply don't have the financial means or the accessibility to obtain these books.  Your Servant - DM.

BR-0001 The Finite Tithe  20-Pages of the booklet: 4-Parts. (then 7-Pages for cover page, introduction, table of contents, poem).  Told in a story form depicting 2 American churches (Part 1, introduces Reverend Larry and First Community Bible Church: Parts 2-4 describe Broadway Church and Church of the Narrow Way):  we prayerfully hope that some congregations will be piqued to return to a more Scriptural way of financing their existence. BR-0003 is the second part of the series.

BR-0003 The PLAN 32-Pages of the booklet: 6-Parts. (then 5 pages for cover, introduction, table of contents: then 13-Pages of poems by David Miller).  This booklet continues with Reverend Larry, whom we first met in The Finite Tithe.  BR-0001 SHOULD be read first.

The Complete Messianic Amidah & Shema,  by David Miller      17-Pages.  The ancient Amidah compilation of 18-prayers, and the Shema   - the holiest prayer in Judaism.  Both were spoken by Yahshua and His disciples and Apostles throughout their lives.  It is a shame that most modern Believers have heard of neither.  Obviously, the most important thing of all is to know Messiah as your Savior...then to follow and walk in His Commandments/Torah.  That is what He and His Father require of us: Ecclesiastes 12:9-13.  1st - Salvation.  2nd - Obedience through love.  3rd - Anything else.

Did Paul Keep The Torah? Or Was He A Duplicitous Liar? by David Miller   38-Pages 5 Parts (28 pages of the actual book, 3 pages of introduction and table of contents, 7 pages of poems).  How can we hear from the pulpit that Paul said "goodbye to the Jews and then went to the Gentiles...but every time thereafter he went to a new town...he went to the Jewish people FIRST?  How can we hear that Paul started "Christianity" but then read that he was in the Temple performing sacrifices and paying for 4 others to perform sacrifices with him?  How can we read in Acts that Paul described himself as a "Pharisee of Pharisee's" and he was proud of that?  Obviously, we've been lied to!  This book will open the eyes of ANYONE who is truly seeking to know God.

The List Of 613 Mitzvot    17-Pages.  A reprint of the 613 Mitzvot/Commandments/Instructions (that's right there aren't 10, and if you read Exodus 32:15 - the 2 tablets were written on both sides!)  Obviously, all 613 don't apply to every person. There were instructions for men, for women, for judges (lawyers and jury's), kings, priests, for the holy days, and for Sacrifices.  YHWH allowed the Temple to be destroyed so we cannot Sacrifice anymore (but Paul and the rest of the Apostles did - until 70 CE).  Take a look at it, it will open your eyes.  And when your pastor says that the commandemnts were "nailed to the Cross," ask him why he/she quotes the tithing laws...even though there are no more Levites and no Temple.  Ask him/her if Deuteronomy 18:15, 12:12, 22:6 and Leviticus 18:23 are still in effect or were they abolished?  If he/she says they are still in effect...then ask them if the Bible is now "ala carte?"  But do it with respect and sincere honesty.

Exactly Who And What Are We In The 21st Century?  54-Pages, 5 Parts (32 pages of the document, 4 pages for Table of Contents, etc., and 16 pages of poems by David Miller).  By focusing on how ministries have gone horribly off-track, perhaps we can focus 20/20 on how a Scriptural ministry should look and function like.  Alternate Title: "How To Start A Messianic Congregation, Part IV" is located in a 32 page version (without poems) on the Scriptural Position Papers-Doctrines (PDF) page.

How Do We Choose Those Who Govern?   43-Pages.  (41 pages of the document, 2 pages for Cover Page and Table of Contents).  This is the third part of the BR-0020 A, B, C, series on "how do we govern?," and Part V, of the "how to start a Messianic Congregation," series. This section is the longest and it covers "how does Scripture instruct us to choose Rabbi's (Pastor's), Elder's, Deacon's, etc."  YHWH always chooses, but congregations have to recognize "who" and "what" makes a good shepherd.  The non-book form is on the Scriptural Position Papers-Doctrines (PDF) page.

New Moons or Barley Harvests? 82-pages.  BR-0035.  Have you ever heard that Nisan 1 is determined by the Barley Harvest? Have you ever observed Passover an entire month before some of your friends?  This book shatters the ancient and modern myth that Nisan 1 is determined by Barley.  The New Moon determines all of our months and Barley has nothing whatsoever to DO with it.  Also located at: Moadim: Tools, Helps, and Neat Stuff, and Scriptural Position Papers (Doctrine) PDF.  NOTE: Book was de-linked on 31 March 2007 in order to rewrite a few pages to make them clearer to understand (how to do the actual calculation for Nisan 1) - it will be re-linked in a few weeks.

                                  THE GREAT BOOKS (no longer read by most)

The Two Babylons   219-Pages.  By the late Rev. Alexander Hislop, published in 1858.  The truth about the Papacy and the Great Whore of Babylon has been mostly lost in the 21st Century.  This book is one of the great foundation stones that came out of the Reformation.  Since it is out of copyright - no one wants to publish it since they can't guarantee their profits.  Great men of the Reformation knew what Catholicism was all about...and they knew that her daughters (the post-modernist Evangelicals would follow her).  In the 1990's there was a TV show called Star Trek: The Next Generation, they had an enemy called the Borg, a collective that assimilated all cultures, their famous saying upon meeting another culture was: "we are the Borg, resistance is futile, you will be assimilated."  The Roman Catholic Church is the REAL Borg Empire.  Blessed are we who believe and trust in the real Messiah of Scripture, because He will fight against evil empires for us...and He will vanquish them for His glory and the glory of His Father's Name and His Name.

History Of The Papacy, Book I   82-Pages. By the late Rev. J.A. Wylie, published in 1851.  How is it that the Reformers unanimously rejected the Roman Catholic Church as being defined as anything "Christian," yet, post-modern Evangelicals believe that the Pope and his entourage are "brothers in Christ?" Because in modern seminaries and bible colleges they teach men and women how to grow their churches through gimmicks, glitz, and glamour - not through Repentance, Salvation, Obedience, edification, encouragement, equipping, exhortation, and building-up of the Body.  Thus when wolves come slinking through the pastor or rabbi's door...they themselves don't realize they and their flock have just been listed as entrees on the menu of the the Papacy.

Dogmas Of The Papacy, Book II   113-Pages. By the late Rev. J.A. Wylie, published in 1851. When a person is on their death bed they should be having faith in the fact that Messiah is their Savior and that His blood has washed away all of ones sins.  Instead, Catholics have faith that Mary is the co-redemptrix and their baptism will save them, the priest comes in and gives them assurance that he has forgiven their sins...they then die and go to hell.  In Scripture the word "saint" means True Believer.  Shouldn't True Believers be passionate about the souls of everyone who have be deceived by the enemy of men's souls?  "Therefore I testify to you this day, that I am innocent of the blood of all men. "For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God." Acts 20:26-27.

The Genius And Influence Of The Papacy, Book III   48-Pages. By the late Rev. J.A. Wylie, published in 1851. Isn't it a shame that the post-modern world desires to "say" they belong to God...but they don't want to emulate God's character or obey His instructions for living?  It's what the Catholic Church has been DOing for thousands of years!  DO whatever you want for 6 days of the week...then go to church/mass, receive forgiveness, then go out and DO whatever you want to do for another 6-days...then go to....  Evil genius.  "The Torah of YHWH is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of YHWH is sure, making wise the simple." Psalm 19:7.

Present Policy And Prospects Of The Papacy, Book IV (and Appendix)   35-Pages. By the late Rev. J.A. Wylie, published in 1851.  Until Yahshua the Messiah returns, prospects are good because there are not many Evangelicals or Messianic's who really believe that the Roman Catholic Church is as bad as the whole of Scripture says that she is. But, when Messiah returns...her prospects dim totally.  "But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray, so that they commit acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols." Revelation 2:20.

Fifty Years in the Church of Rome   464-Pages.  By the late Rev. Charles Chiniquy, who was a priest in the Roman Catholic Church for 25 years.  Published in the 1870's.  Rev. Chiniquy was a Roman Catholic Priest who upon being led to actual Salvation in Messiah, not only left the Catholic Church but took his entire congregation with him!  This is a remarkable book written by a man who has a very inside knowledge of the Papacy and its war against humanity. "And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her, my people, that you may not participate in her sins and that you may not receive of her plagues." Revelation 18:4.

The Priest, The Woman, And The Confessional    103-Pages.  By the late Rev. Charles Chiniquy, who was a priest in the Roman Catholic Church for 25 years.  Rev. Chiniquy writes with passion to let every man and woman know about the intimate dangers of the Roman practice of "confession."  Books such as these (written in the 17th-19th centuries) were the warning signs along the roadside - post-modern Evangelicals have removed almost all of the road sign's: leading to the destruction of over billions of innocent souls.  How many Believers today, weep for the souls of the lost? "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, the way a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were unwilling."  Matthew 23:37.

The Law   39-Pages. By the late Frederick Bastiat.  First published in 1850.  Mssr. Bastiat was a French Legislator of the 19th Century.  "The Law" is considered to be one of the best and briefest essay's on the subject of "what importance is law to a society?"  This book should be a foundational book in anyone's secular library to understanding from a Judeo perspective of "Law" being the foundation for all just civilizations versus the thinking of post-modern Western philosophers view of "law" being inhibiting to humanist-centric concerns, goals, and visions.

The Law - Complete Works   226-Pages. By the late Frederick Bastiat.  First published in 1850.  These are greatly expanded versions and include "What is Seen and What Is Not Seen" and also includes the bulk of Mssr. Bastiat's columns which he wrote for his newspaper.  It is amazing that he was only 49-years old when he passed, but he left the world a legacy of great thought and examination on the subjects of freedom, law, and economics.

Commentary of Matthew    223-Pages.  By Rabbi Jechiel Zebi Lichtenstein (1829-1909) written 1891 in HEBREW.  Rabbi Lichtenstein was raised Orthodox and eventually accepted Yahshua as Messiah and his personal Savior.  On our Source Documents page we have a 12-page An Appeal To The Jewish People, which he wrote in an attempt to persuade the Jewish people to take an unbiased look at Yahshua's claim to be the Messiah. We're trying to find an English translation.
