MOADIM Tools, Helps, and Neat Stuff
![]()
THIS IS A PRINTER FRIENDLY PAGE
These are little things that can help to make your observance of God's Holy Days (Moadim/Appointed Days) easier to understand, track, teach others, enjoy, and perhaps to simply gain greater understanding. No matter who you, and I, are, or how long we've been Believers, how much education we have - we are always students and we should never stop learning. Some of these items were created as stand-alone items, and some are culled from larger works. When they are from a larger document we will cite the work in parenthesis, they will most likely be found in the Scriptural Position Papers category. Your Servant - DM.
BR-0010
Torah/Tenach Parasha Weekly Reading Calendar 2006-2007
6-Pages. Contains the traditional Torah and Haftarah readings as
well as selected readings from the Brit HaDasha ("New" Testament). The
calendar this year begins on the 21 of October 2006/5766.

WEEKLY SABBATH (the weekly Sabbath is one of the Moadim)
BR-0022
Candle Lighting & The Sabbath, Women's Studies Part I
13-Pages. What are the "traditions" for lighting the candles? What do
they mean? Are they good to DO? How can a Messianic relate to
the traditions of the Rabbi's? This paper answers several of these
questions concerning several traditions. Including the idea that there
is no commandment that says we should "kindle the Sabbath lights."
BR-Tools-0009
Traditional Prayer For Kindling The Sabbath Lights (and other
Moed)
3-Pages. The short version of the traditional prayer (page 1) with
a introduction explaining how the prayer fits into a Messianic Belief.
The prayers are printed within a "text box." The "box" can be copied
and pasted onto a blank document, then printed onto nice paper and laminated
and/or framed. The Sabbath Prayer makes a nice gift for Hanukah.
PASSOVER/PESACH
BR-0007
Passover: The
Scriptural Minimum Essentials
8-Pages. If you are new to being Messianic or Torah
Observant, keeping the Moadim can be daunting. Especially if you are part of
a group that places traditions on an equal level with Scripture. These
are the minimum essentials as outlined in Scripture - DO these first, then
add tradition as you feel comfortable. In our Passover Haggadah (for
the Seder) we even mark when one of the Essentials has been accomplished
during the traditional Seder.
BR-0008
Passover: Then The Rest...
12-Pages. In YHWH's calendar, Passover (Pesach) begins the annual
cycle of Holy Days (Appointed Days). These are "Appointments" weekly
and annually that God has given to us, so we may meet with Him - Our
Savor...with His Chosen People. The "religious elite" of this world
will tell you that all of these days have been abolished, they will
literally tell you that when God said "forever," it didn't mean forever.
This will give you the knowledge to teach them gently that they are in
error.

BR-0035 New
Moons or Barley Harvests?
82-pages. Have you ever heard
that Nisan 1 is determined by the Barley Harvest? Have you ever
observed Passover an entire month before some of your friends? This
book shatters the ancient and modern myth that Nisan 1 is determined by
Barley. The New Moon determines all of our months and Barley has
nothing whatsoever to DO with it. Companion piece is BR-0043. Also located at:
Scriptural Position Papers (Doctrine) PDF and Books By Contributing
Authors. NOTE: Book was
de-linked on 31 March 2007 in order to rewrite a few pages to make them
clearer to understand (how to do the actual calculation for Nisan 1) - it
will be re-linked in a few weeks.
BR-0043 Passover:
14th or 15th: When To Observe The Pesach Seder?
22-Pages. This is the logical companion piece for
BR-0035 that shows how to determine Nisan 1st. This paper discusses
when to observe the Passover Seder: on the evening (nighttime portion) of
the 14th; or during the daytime (afternoon portion) of the 14th and then
into the 15th of Nisan. Lot's of visual charts to help you "SEE" how
the days are constructed. Also located on the Scriptural Position Papers (Doctrine) PDF
page.

BR-0014
Shavuot: Minimum Scriptural Essentials
4-Pages. Since YHWH allowed the stone Temple to be removed how DO we
keep Shavuot? Are there things that we can still observe? What
are they?
BR-0040
Shavuot: Examining The Facets
18-Pages. What Shavuot all about? Why do we Wave leavened
loaves and not unleavened? Is it true that Shavuot is the "neglected
step-child of the Moadim?" This explains it all in a simple to read
and yet very thorough overview of the Chag Holy Day.

Generic Torah Reading Calendar
3-Pages for the Messianic Parasha cycle (1-page for the Davism:
3-Year Cran-Apple Bible Reading Calendar). The calendar is
"generic," simply start the reading titled "B'ereshit" (beginning with
Genesis 1:1) on the first Sabbath after Sukkot. Then read the next
portion on the next Sabbath until you finish the cycle on the Sabbath during
Sukkot. On this website there is an up-to-date calendar for the
current year.
FEAST OF DEDICATION/FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS/HANUKKAH
BR-0023
Hanukkah: Why
Celebrate It?
12-Pages. In-depth discussion of why Hanukkah matters today, why we can
trust the Scriptural and historical accounts, and why the keeping of
Christmas is really about assimilation into the world: while observing
Hanukkah is a statement about anti-assimilation.

B’Av – Is it for Messianic’s (DNA Jew & Gentile)?
10-Pages. Are Messianic's supposed to mourn the loss of the Temples?
Why have all these bad things happened on the 9th of Av? Can a
Believer practice all of the Rabbinic Traditions? Everything is
answered in this small paper. Located on the MOADIM: Tools, Helps and Neat Stuff
page. Very helpful.
